In just how many "slanted" versions would one want to hear their house burned down, a loved one has died, etc.? Just the thought of such is ridiculous!

No! Any self-respecting person would feel insulted to be so patronized!
I know, I would!

Give me the truth straight, with no embellishments!

Moreover, would one be ever able to again trust someone who is known to slant the truth?
