Here, another find by my dearest brother in Christ, Jithin, who, all the way from India, digs up these priceless gems for me!
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see,
and ask for the old paths, where is the good way,
and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
But they said, We will not walk therein.

Ben Carson was born in Detroit,
Michigan, on September 18, 1951. His mother, though under educated
herself, pushed her sons to read and to believe in themselves. Carson
went from being a poor student to receiving honors and he eventually
attended medical school. As a doctor, he became the Director of
Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital at age 33, and became
famous for his ground-breaking work separating conjoined twins.
The following poem has always been one of my very favorites:
Who hath a book
Hath friends at hand,
And gold and gear
At his command;
And rich estates,
If he but look,
Are held by him
Who hath a book.
Who hath a book
Hath but to read
And he may be
A king, indeed.
His kingdom is
His inglenook-
All this is his
Who hath a book.
Hath friends at hand,
And gold and gear
At his command;
And rich estates,
If he but look,
Are held by him
Who hath a book.
Who hath a book
Hath but to read
And he may be
A king, indeed.
His kingdom is
His inglenook-
All this is his
Who hath a book.
