The sheer GRACE I feel enveloping me is beyond words! To say "I am thankful," doesn't begin to convey the truth about my true feelings of gratitude toward my Lord, and my God!
So I got up needing to hear that song "Why me Lord?" which never fails to bring tears to my eyes. I have it on CD with Cristy Lane. In searching it on YouTube, I was surprised and touched to learn of its true origin. Just how many, today, in our "sophisticated" entertainment industry, would humble themselves to relate such a powerful event in their lives?

- Robert Bratcher, chief translator for the Today’s English Version (Good News for Modern Man), died on July 11 at age 90. After earning a Th.D. in 1949 from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, he became a missionary to Brazil, representing the theological liberalism that was already deeply entrenched in the Convention. He taught at the SBC’s seminary in Rio de Janeiro and in 1957 became affiliated with the American Bible Society’s translation department.
As early as 1953, Bratcher denied the Divinity of Jesus Christ in a paper published by the Rio de Janiero seminary. During a question and answer session on October 13, 1970, at the First Baptist Church, Spartanburg, South Carolina, Bratcher was asked, “Is Jesus Christ God, or the same as God?” He replied, “Jesus is not the same personality as God” (Donald Clarke, Bible Version Manual, 1975, p. 98).
Bratcher also denied the infallible inspiration of Holy Scripture. On November 5, 1970, after a lecture at Furman University, Dr. Bratcher told the students. “IF WE BUILD OUR FAITH WHOLLY ON THE BIBLE, THEN WE ARE BUILDING OUR FAITH ON SHIFTING SAND” (The Greenville News, Greenville, South Carolina, Nov. 8, 1970). In 1981, Bratcher made the following statement at a Southern Baptist Life Commission seminar in Dallas, Texas: “ONLY WILLFUL IGNORANCE OR INTELLECTUAL DISHONESTY CAN ACCOUNT FOR THE CLAIM THAT THE BIBLE IS INERRANT AND INFALLIBLE ... To invest the Bible with the qualities of inerrancy and infallibility is to idolatrize it, to transform it into a false god” (The Baptist Courier, April 2, 1981).
Some claim that the Southern Baptist Convention has “been rescued from liberalism,” but it has never denounced Robert Bratcher and his vile Today’s English Version. It has been heavily promoted by the SBC, in spite of the fact that practically every passage dealing with the Divinity of Christ is corrupted and the Blood was largely removed in New Testament passages dealing with the Atonement, two mention only two of its gross errors.
Beware of the Southern Baptist Convention! Even its staunchest preachers are New Evangelical compromisers, and compromise is highly contagious. This sounds like to much hate towards the Roman Catholic Church. It sounds like the basis of this site is to demorlize the first Christian faith and not to expand on ones beliefs in their own Christianity. Im sorry for you and hope you find what your looking for......

As early as A.D. 860, Pope Nicholas I said Bible reading should be banned (Romanism, A Menace to the Nation by Jeremiah Crowley, 1912, pg. 109).
In 1198, Pope Innocent III said, "All who read the Bible are to be killed" (The Library of Universal Knowledge, Vol. 2, pg. 516).
In 1234, the Senate of Tarragon in Spain declared, "If a heretic is in possession of any translation, he should be killed if it is not delivered up within eight days to be burned." "Votes all abound to belong to the Catholic Church, and he who knows the Catholic Church to be the true Church and remains out of it, cannot be saved."
In The Catechism of the Catholic Doctrine (an official Catholic publication by Benzinger Brothers Catholic Publishers, New York, 1902, pg. 116), Carl Gibbons cites Pope Boniface VIII's "bull" called Unum Sanctum: "It is necessary for every human being creature for salvation to be subject to the authority of the Roman Pontiff. Out of the Roman Church no one can be saved because Jesus never gave nor will ever give any other church for the salvation of men." In the same work we read: "Those who do not care to sing their salvation in the Roman Catholic Church can never have the least hope to be saved."
Yes, Catholics are such loving people, indeed!

Thus, since, I wasted no time distancing myself from the CULT in which I was, and the more I delved into it, the more grateful I became to the Holy Spirit for having opened my eyes!
Unfortunately, I also found myself direly lacking in the true history of this cult, AS YOU ARE!! IT WAS NEVER "the first Christian faith!" THIS IS PURE FABRICATION OF THE VATICAN!
The Emperor Constantine, tired of fighting the Christians, decided to UNITE PAGANS AND THE FEARFUL LUKEWARM CHRISTIANS into ONE UNIVERSAL CHURCH, and this IN THE FOURTH CENTURY! And there is where you get the word CATHOLIC = UNIVERSAL! I have plenty about it on my blog. Search it!
There was NEVER EVER ANYTHING CATHOLIC before the fourth century! Look at your "list of ordinances!" Nothing begins until the fourth century!! Coincidence? Not a chance!

Yes, the RCC endeavored to keep the word of God from all, for to read it, is to learn the truth! I can vouch for this, personally! Just read the New Testament, unhindered by any prejudices and pray the Holy Spirit open your heart and mind... If you are honest, He will do so!
