Simplicity In Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3) by Greg Miller; The simplicity of the Gospel by Charles Surgeon

.

Mind you, Charles Spurgeon NEVER attended any theological college, yet, is regarded as one of the BEST preachers ever! Graduates from such seminaries come out being charlatans, their ultimate goal, for the most part, to satisfy their bellies. Of course, there are notable exceptions to this rule!

Christ gave His word to simple men! Should such simple men have the Holy Spirit in them, they shall have no trouble preaching God's word!

I will worship toward thy holy temple,
and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness
and for thy truth:
for thou hast magnified thy word
above all thy name.
Psalm 138:2 (King James Bible)

God be thanked for the simplicity of the gospel. The longer I live the more I bless God that we have not received a classical gospel, or a mathematical gospel, or a metaphysical gospel; it is not a gospel confined to scholars and men of genius, but a poor man’s gospel, a ploughman’s gospel; for that is the kind of gospel which we can live upon and die upon. It is to us not the luxury of refinement, but the staple food of life.

We want no fine words when the heart is heavy, neither do we need deep problems when we are lying upon the verge of eternity, weak in body and tempted in mind. At such times we magnify the blessed simplicity of the gospel. Jesus in the flesh made manifest becomes our soul’s bread. Jesus bleeding on the cross, a substitute for sinners, is our soul’s drink. This is the gospel for babes, and strong men want no more.

Simplicity in Christ is founded in the Gospel. And all false cults and religion destroy the Gospel by making it something difficult and convoluted.

Paul warns the Corinthians of being fooled by such Satanic subtlety and we must heed that warning today. We are in the LAST days.

  1. Simplicity is one of the greatest virtue which people of this generation lacks like anything, now a days i see people trying to show off luxury before others, even when they may not have 3 times of food in a day to satiate their hunger..

Jesus, son of God, came to this world not with glory and riches but with humility and simplicity, born in a stable..
Who else can give us a better example of simplicity..

  2. Indeed, Matthews!

Pride is at the root of this!

So glad you seem to have found Jesus!

May God bless you and keep you well!

    Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;
for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
