Much too commonly, it seems, we use the phrase "It took my breath away!" Here something, that when first viewed by me, really did take my breath away, which 15 hours later, I am still attempting to regain, with tears in my eyes and a most oppressed heart. Nevertheless, it is a story in real life that is so very inspirational.
When a child it born, one worries about counting his/her fingers and toes. The parents of this precious being had so much more about which to worry! Yet, one is hard-pressed to see this most valiant very young mother of only 22 years of age, ever give in to sorrow, rather, being a tower of strength in adversity, is always seen with that most beautiful smile she wears so well!
This child will need a lifetime of care, in need of many special resources, I pray, be available to him. Such great strides have been made in the field of prosthetics. Who knows, the day may come, when this happy child be able to embrace his marvelous mother, who will so long for one such embrace! So much we take for granted, if only to have the arms of our children around our necks!

A pró de adaptação para o bebê Heitor
It is easy enough to be pleasant,
When life flows by like a song,
But the man worth while is one who will smile,
When everything goes dead wrong.
For the test of the heart is trouble,
And it always comes with the years,
And the smile that is worth the praises of earth,
Is the smile that shines through tears.
When nothing tempts you to stray,
When without or within no voice of sin
Is luring your soul away;
But it's only a negative virtue
Until it is tried by fire,
And the life that is worth the honor on earth,
Is the one that resists desire.
Who had no strength for the strife,
The world's highway is cumbered to-day,
They make up the sum of life.
But the virtue that conquers passion,
And the sorrow that hides in a smile,
It is these that are worth the homage on earth
For we find them but once in a while.
