Paul Ryan knocks Democrats for having ‘purged’ platform reference to ‘God’
Republican running mate Paul Ryan criticized Democrats Wednesday for having “purged” the word “God” from their official platform, calling the move “peculiar” as Democrats downplayed the omission.
“I think it’s rather peculiar. It’s not in keeping with our founding documents, our founding vision, but I guess you’d have to ask the Obama administration why they purged all this language from their platform,” Ryan said in an interview with Fox News.
He was among several conservatives complaining after the official party platform was adopted late Tuesday at the Democratic convention in Charlotte, N.C.
The Democrats’ 2008 platform, like platforms before it, included the word “God.”
It said: “We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.”
I watched a news segment where Senator Dick Durbin blasts FNC's Bret Baier for exposing the "peculiarly" missing items from the DNC's Platform, God and Jerusalem! He accused him of siding with Republicans, and that it was a Republican ploy to distract voters. Hilarious!
Then I watched as the Convention's Chairman takes a verbal vote to re-insert these two very contentious items, President Obama to have been up in arms about it, also. Well, here came the first vote. The nays were much louder! A 2/3 majority was needed to pass this.
So he calls for a 2nd vote! Again, the nays sounded much louder. He's lost, and fumbles looking around for help! A lady tells him something like "...you gotta let them do what they are going to do!" Here he calls for a 3rd vote. Again, the nays are quite loud, yet, it was passed, amidst a lot of boos and arms flailing in opposition!!
Who needs Comedy Central!! Confusion reigns at the DNC!!
